Switching to Golbi, without a one-click promise we can't keep.

If your sports, membership, or registration platform was just acquired — or your renewal keeps climbing — this is how a move to Golbi actually works: a step-by-step import ladder, an honest list of what carries over and what doesn't, and a paid, hands-on service when your data is messy.

Why now

Consolidation put a lot of clubs in play.

Several platforms changed hands in 2025–2026, and ownership changes tend to bring repricing and roadmap uncertainty at renewal. A move is a real project, so we would rather set honest expectations than promise a magic button. No vendor can truly export everything one-for-one, and we will not pretend otherwise.

How it works

The migration ladder — pick the rung that fits your data.

Most moves start self-serve and climb only as far as your data's messiness requires. Hands-on migration is a paid service — it protects the time it takes to map another vendor's export cleanly, and it keeps low plans self-serve.

1. Self-serve CSV templates

Download our import templates, export your people, households, and roster from your current tool, paste them in, and upload. Best for clean lists. Free to do yourself.

2. Guided source-specific kits

Step-by-step notes for common exports — where to find them in your current platform and how their columns map to ours. You still run the import; the kit removes the guesswork.

3. Assisted mapping

Send us a messy export and we help line up the columns, split combined fields, and fix households before it loads. A paid setup service for files that don't fit a template.

4. White-glove migration

For larger organizations, we do the hands-on work: cleanup, mapping, load, and a review pass with your board. A paid, quoted service — scoped to your data, not a flat button.

Honesty

Migration and setup are a paid service — we say so up front.

The self-serve rungs are free to do yourself. Anything hands-on — assisted mapping, data cleanup, or full white-glove migration — is a paid, quoted service. There is no automatic, one-click import from any specific vendor, and we won't market one. If a page ever tells you a move is instant, be skeptical; a real migration is a project.

What carries over

What comes across cleanly.

People — names, contact details, and roles, imported from your export.
Households and guardians — parents linked to children, so family privacy rules apply from day one.
Teams and rosters — your groups and who is on them.
Dues records — balances and payment notes brought in as your private ledger's starting point.
Forms — the questions and fields, rebuilt quickly from your current forms using our templates.
What doesn't

What doesn't carry over — and why.

Some things live inside the other platform or its payment processor and cannot be exported and reattached. Planning for these up front keeps the move honest.

Stored card and bank details — payment credentials never transfer; families re-enter them once, securely, wherever your group turns on online payments.
Historical processor transactions — past charges and payout history stay in the old system's reports; bring balances forward as notes, not a transaction feed.
Sport-specific history — meet results, times, box scores, and stat databases stay with the specialized tools built for them.
Third-party integrations and automations — vendor-specific connectors are rebuilt, not copied.
Old chat and message history — past conversations remain in the tool they happened in.
Stability

What you're moving toward.

Transparent, quote-free pricing — a free tier and flat subscription plans, not a hidden quote you only get after a sales call.
No platform take-rate — Golbi adds no percentage on top of standard payment processing.
Your group is the merchant of record — where online payments are turned on, money settles to your own connected account and Golbi never holds it.
Honest launch labels — we mark what is live, what is early access, and what is planned, instead of overselling.
Your data stays yours — export people, households, dues, and forms whenever you want, so you're never locked in the way you may feel now.

Thinking about a move? Let's scope it.

Tell us what platform you're on and how messy the export is. We'll point you at the right rung of the ladder — self-serve or a paid, hands-on migration.
